辺野古埋め立て中止を求める署名、約21万人分をインターネットで集めた県系4世のロバート・カジワラさんが19日来日しました。20日から都内や県内で様々なイベントに参加します。
冒頭、「ワンネーロバート・カジワラヤイビーン」と挨拶したのは、昨夜来日したロバート・カジワラさん。
午後5時半から、衆議院議員会館での講演会に登壇し、沖縄の歴史的背景や独自の文化なども踏まえたうえで辺野古の埋め立て中止を訴えました。
カジワラさんは「日米両政府は、不必要で(コストが)まかないきれない、実行不可能な新基地建設のために環境破壊を行っていています」と話しました。
一方、カジワラさんによると、19日、ハワイから関西国際空港に到着した際、約2時間入国できず、別室で入国目的などについて質問されたということです。
大阪入国管理局は取材に対し、「滞在理由や内容によっては確認に時間を要することもある」とし、正当な手続きに従って審査したものだとしています。
カジワラさんは21日は名護市で、22日は那覇市内でトークイベントなどに出演する予定です。

"Lectures on Hawaii and Luuchuu Independence, [July] 29th, at Okinawa International University
The Luuchuu Independence Action Network is hosting a conference at Okinawa International University in Jinoon [Ginowan] City, at building number 5, room 106, on the 29th, starting at 2 pm. Mr. Robert Kajiwara (pictured center) will provide a report on activities in the Hawaiian Kingdomʻs movement to regain its independence from the United States. Dr. Hoshin Nakamura, Professor Emeritus of Okinawa University (pictured fifth from the left), will also be speaking about Luuchuuʻs history, politics, and economic issues.
On the the 25th [of July] at the Ryukyu Shimpo Hall in Naha City, Mr. Robert Kajiwara told the Ryukyu Shimpo, "Both Luuchuu and Hawaii have a similar history of having been annexed, by Japan and the United States, respectively, by force and without the consent of the native people. Therefore it is our hope that both sides can work together to help each other in our shared aspirations for peace and removal of U.S. military bases."
The Luuchuu Independence Action Network hosts quarterly conferences open to the public. Admission is 500 yen [$4.50] to cover costs of expenses. For inquiries, please call the Luuchuu Independence Action Network at 080-9247-1215."
